Instructions to make a 12 chicken Multipeck.
1. You need 3 kits. Before doing anything else read all
these instructions as parts have to be assembled in the correct sequence.
No responsibility can be taken for incorrect assembly! Note Right Hand
(RH) is the handle end.
2. Box
From kit 1 glue A3/4. After glue has dried cut 8mm off left hand (LH)
end.
Glue A5-8 box end in place.
From kit 2 cut 23mm off the handle end of box top and bottom and 8mm off
other end.
Cut two strips of card 10mm x 50mm, use these to join boxes 1 & 2
by glueing them inside top and bottom edges of box.
Cut LH box end as shown in picture by cutting off flaps A10 & 12.

Glue at box join making sure flap A9 is at bottom and strengthener
is facing left. Glue flaps A 13 - 16 on first box only.

From kit 3 cut 23mm off the handle end of box top and bottom.
Cut two strips of card 10mm x 50mm, use these to join boxes 2 & 3
by glueing inside top and bottom edges of box as before.
From kit 2 make up and fit the left hand box end (A2 and A9 -12).
From kit 3 cut LH box end as before by cutting off flaps A10 & 12.
Glue at box join making sure flap A9 is at bottom and strengthener is
facing left. Glue all remaining strengthening flaps.
You now should have a long box with two central bearings and equally spaced
chicken positions.
3. Camshaft
From kit 1 fold and glue E1, camshaft. When dry cut off 12mm from LH end.
Cut, fold and make two square tubes about 20mm long that will just fit
inside the camshaft.

From kit 2 fold and glue E1, camshaft. When dry cut off
12mm from LH end and 38mm from the RH end. Use one of the short tubes
to join the two shafts together making sure cam 4 is next to cam 1 and
colours line up.
From kit 3 fold and glue E1, camshaft. When dry cut off 38mm from the
RH end. Use the other short tube to join the two camshafts together making
sure cam 4 is next to cam 1 and colours line up.
You now should have a long camshaft with equally spaced cam positions.
4. Cams
Starting at the LH end slide but do not glue the cams, yellow side facing
right, onto the camshaft in the following order:
cam numbered 1 goes on position 4 with green tab in its correct position.
cam numbered 2 goes on position 3 with green tab between the green and
red positions.
cam numbered 3 goes on position 2 with green tab on the red position.
cam numbered 4 goes on position 1 with green tab between the red and green
positions.
cam numbered 2 goes on position 4 with red tab on the green position.
cam numbered 3 goes on position 3 with green tab between the green and
red positions.
cam numbered 4 goes on position 2 with red tab on the red position.
cam numbered 2 goes on position 1 with green tab between the green and
red positions.
cam numbered 3 goes on position 4 with red tab on the red position.
Rotating the camshaft should have the cams following in sequence. It is
now necessary to make two new cams. Use one of the remaining three as
a template then cut the holes in the two cams to follow the sequence.

The final cam, numbered 4, goes on position 1 with green
tab on the red position.
One rotation of the camshaft sequences along from L to R with the far
L and R ones being in the same position.
5. Assembling the camshaft
Carefully slide off the cams laying them down in line ready for the next
step.
Slide the camshaft through the RH hole, thread on the first four cams
using the sequence above, then through the first bearing hole, the next
four cams, next bearing hole and finally the last four cams. Check all
cams are orientated correctly but do not glue.
Glue the end washers and handle to the camshaft.
Glue the cams positioning them to fit the cam followers.
Assemble the rest of the parts.
You now have a Multipeck; as one wave ends the next starts.
